Silver Lake Sand Dunes ORV Vouchers

 

 Are you Dune Ready?

– All required permits on vehicle 

(Purchase at Welcome Center, campground office or headquarters)

– Recreation Passport (state park vehicle pass)

-ORV permit

-Trail pass

– Street legal

– Drive into dunes/no trailer

– Safety flag (attached in proper location and at least 10′ high)

– Flags must be purchased prior to entering park (available at most local businesses)

– Seat belts for all passengers

-Eye protection

-Windshield or goggles

-Spark arrester type exhaust/reverse flow exhaust

-Maximum noise 94db

-No alcohol

-Alcohol is not allowed within 1/4 mile of ORV area

-Valid unrestricted Driver’s License

-Recommended tire pressure maximum of 15 psi

-Don’t forget to pick up a map!

 Towing Laws

Michigan Motor Vehicle Code states that a vehicle or trailer towed or drawn by a vehicle shall be attached to the vehicle with forms of coupling devices in a manner so that when the combination is operated in a linear alignment the movement of the towed or drawn vehicle or trailer does not deviate more than 3 inches to either side of the path of the towing vehicle that tows or draws it.  The vehicle or trailer shall also be connected to the towing vehicle by suitable safety chains or devices.  MCL 257.721(3)
